DAVIDSON, N.C. — Addison Beam's tie for 17th place led the way for App State Men's Golf at the River Run Collegiate hosted by Davidson on Monday and Tuesday.
Highlighted by a 1-under 69 in the second round, Beam had a 3-over total of 213 (72-69-72).
Herman Huus opened the event with a 69 and tied for 32nd place at 218 (69-72-77) as the Mountaineers tied for 11th place in the 14-team field at 31 over (286-292-293—871).
Radford won the team title with a 6-under total of 834, and East Carolina's Carter Busse was the medalist at 10 under (68-64-68—200).
App State freshman
Rob Bergevin tied for 44th in his collegiate debut, highlighted by a first-round 72 and an eagle during the third round, while
Colin Browning (opening-round 73) and
Sverrir Haraldsson tied for 70th. Haraldsson led the team with an even-par 70 in the final round.
Playing as an individual,
Cole Bergheim closed with a 73 and tied for 56th.
App State returns to action next week with the VCU Shootout on Monday and Tuesday in Richmond, Va.
