Versatile kicker comes into the season as Appalachian State’s top backup at both place kicker and punter … has handled kickoff duties in the past and could compete to fill that role as well this season.

2012: Did not see game action while serving as top backup to all-America punter Sam Martin.

2011: Appeared in 10 games as the Mountaineers’ primary kickoff man … took 51 of Appalachian’s 67 kickoffs on the season … averaged 62.5 yards per kickoff with the opponent fielding the average kickoff at its own seven yard line … had four touchbacks … pushed two kicks out of bounds but none after the first two games of the season.

2010: Redshirted.

High School: Earned all-conference and all-Western North Carolina recognition as a senior at Asheville H.S. ... made 104-of-109 extra points and 14-of-21 field goals during his three-year prep career ... helped Asheville H.S. advance to state semifinals as a sophomore and quarterfinals as a junior and senior ... coached by Danny Wilkins ... was also a soccer standout, earning all-conference, all-region and all-Western North Carolina honors as a junior and senior ... helped the Cougars’ soccer squad advance to state semifinals as a senior and quarterfinals as a junior.
