Appalachian State University women's golf finished third in the 2016 Terrier Classic hosted by Wofford on Tuesday. The Mountaineers finished with a 611 tournament score.

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Appalachian State University women’s golf finished the final round of the 2016 Terrier Classic on Tuesday at the Country Club of Spartanburg. The Mountaineers finished third for the tournament after shooting 611 (+35) for the tournament, just two strokes off the first place winner.

App State shot 303 in the first round before carding 308 in day two during the tournament.

Emily Stinson led the way for the Mountaineers, firing a 75 in round one and a 74 in day two to finish with a 149 (+5) tournament total (fourth). Savanna Wood was just behind her, shooting a 75 and 76 to tie for sixth overall with a tournament score of 151 (+7).

Hannah Craver finished tied for 10th, shooting a pair of 77s for the tournament for a final score of 154, while Joliana Elias carded a day-one 76 and a day-two 81 for a total 157.

Melany Chong rounded out the Mountaineers’ team effort, shooting a pair of 82s to finish with a tournament score of 164.

Playing as individuals for Appalachian, Patricia Thompson scored an 81 and 80 to finish with a tournament score of 161 (38th). Also an individual,  Annika Winebarger finished tied-40th after having an 83 in round one and 80 in round two for a total of 163. 

The Mountaineers will move to play Sunday, Oct. 16 through Tuesday, Oct. 18 in the Bill Berg Invitational in Hayesville, N.C.
