GREENVILLE, N.C. — Appalachian State University women’s golf finished the final round of East Carolina’s Lady Pirate Intercollegiate on Tuesday afternoon. The Mountaineers shot 317 (round one), 311 (round two) and 304 (round three) to finish 13th overall with a tournament total of 932.
The hosting East Carolina took the 2016 Lady Pirate title with a total of 880 (+16) with Elon (908) finishing second. Morehead State and Gardner-Webb finished tied for third with 910 totals. Morehead State also featured the individual champion, Anna Magnusson, who shot a 212 (-4) overall for the three rounds.
Emily Stinson shot a 72 in the final round after having a 74 and 80 first and second round, respectively, to lead the Mountaineers at tied-15th individually with a total of 226.
Hannah Craver finished tied-46th with a tournament total of 234. She had an 81 in round one before improving to a personal-tournament-best 73 in round two before posting an 80 on Tuesday.
Savanna Wood finished one stroke behind Craver at tied-50th. Wood placed very consistent for the tournament, recording 79, 78 and 78 for each round.
Melany Chong posted a 243 for the tournament. She finished with 83 in the first round before posting 80s in the final two rounds to finish tied-78th.
The Mountaineers posted a 628 after day one (tied-14th), having a 317 round one and a 311 round two before heading into the final day. Craver and Stinson led Appalachian after day one with totals of 154 each (t-29th). Wood finished day one three stroked behind them with 157 while Chong posted a day one total of 163.
App State will return to the course on Monday, Oct. 10 for the 2016 Terrier Classic in Spartanburg, S.C.
