App State women's golf takes home the Mimosa Hills title for the second-consecutive season.

Women's Golf Wins Mimosa Hills Intercollegiate

MORGANTON, N.C. — For the second-straight , Appalachian State University women's golf claimed first place at their home tournament, the Mimosa Hills Intercollegiate. The Mountaineers shot a tournament low round of 299 on Sunday for a total of 607. 

App State narrowly edged Jacksonville State by a single stroke. With a 608, the day-one leaders had to settle for second. Elon placed third at 612.

Savanna Wood tallied the lowest score for the Mountaineers for the second-consecutive day. Wood's first-round 75 and second-round 73 gave her a total of 148, good enough to tie for second place. 

Joliana Elias cut one stroke off her day-one score of 76, finishing with 75 in round two. Elias tied for 11th place. Two spots down the leader board was Emily Stinson tied for 13th. Stinson carded a round two 74, giving her a total of 152.

Finishing in a tie for 24th place, Madalyn Davis shot a 77 on Monday. Davis finished with a total of 156. Hannah Craver shot 78 in round two. Craver tied for 43rd place with total of 161.

Appalachian had three golfers competing as Individuals in Patricia Thompson, Lily Yatawara, and Annika Winebarger. Thompson and Winebarger both tied for 52nd place after shooting 163 over two rounds. Yatawara placed 74th with a total of 181. 

When the Mountaineers return to the course it will be for the Sun Belt Championship in Miramar, Fla. on April 17-19.
