DURHAM, N.C. –– Appalachian State University men’s track and field wrapped up the final day of the Duke Invitational on Saturday.

Elliott Graves moved into fourth all-time in the 400-meter hurdles after finishing in second-place with a time of 51.48. Brandon Smith took 10th with a time of 53.54 and Andrew Spear finished 18th with a time of 54.81. 

William Buckley finished fifth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 21.31. Antonio Marcano Jr., finished 11th and Jordan Johnson took 13th with times of 21.61 and 21.63, respectively. Brandon Smith finished 57th (22.19) and Andrew Spear took 37th (22.37). 

Appalachian’s 4x100-meter relay team of Buckley, Johnson, Marcano Jr. and Graves finished third with a time of 40.92. 

The Black and Gold’s 4x400-meter relay team consisting of Josh Hanna, Ryan Hastings, Smith and Jabari Johnson finished fifth with a time of 3:21.18.

Nick Hinton took ninth in the high jump with a height of 6-3.25. In the shot put, Nicolas Botett finished 17th with a throw of 47-9.75. Michael Albert placed 18th in the discus with a throw of 146-7.00, while Peter Kenn finished 20th with a distance of 145-7.00.
