DURHAM, N.C. –– After being named Sun Belt Conference Track Athlete of the Week, Ryan Hastings backed up those accolades with his best performance of 2017.

Hastings led the Mountaineers on day one of the Duke Invitational - topping his own program record in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:48.02. That time was also a meet and track record for the Duke Invitational and Morris Williams Stadium.

In the same race, Sean Doyle finished 37th with a time of 1:56.31, while Evan Georges placed 40th with a time of 1:56.33. Collin Loy ran it in 1:58.54 and placed 54th and Michael Flanagan finished 57th with a time of 1:59.99.

In the 400-meter dash, Josh Hanna finished 17th with a time of 49.15. Chris Anderson placed 16th in the 5,000-meter race with a time of 15:06.40.

Elliott Graves finished 17th in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.79. In the hammer throw, Peter Kenn placed 14th with a throw of 153-9.00.
