Appalachian State University volleyball will host a trio of conference matches this weekend starting with a contest against Georgia State on Friday, Nov. 4 at 6:30 p.m. They will then play two-straight matches against Georgia Southern on Saturday (8 p.m.) and Sunday (4 p.m.)

The Mountaineers were originally scheduled to play at Georgia Southern earlier this season but the match was postponed due to effects of Hurricane Matthew.

SCOUTING THE PANTHERS
Georgia State enters the match on Friday with a 9-14 overall record and a 5-7 mark in league play. Kristina Stinson leads the offense with 2.55 kills per set and 209 total kills on the year. Two other Panthers have collected over 2.00 kills per set Crystal Lee (2.41 k/s) and Eliza Zachary (2.24 k/s).

Sarah Renner leads the offense with 760 total assists this season and is averaging a team-best 9.16 assists per set. Defensively, Celeste Friesen leads the squad with 324 total digs and averages a team-high 3.90 digs per set.

SCOUTING THE EAGLES
Georgia Southern will enter Saturday and Sunday's matches after a match on Friday at Coastal Carolina. The Eagles are currently 12-14 overall and 4-6 in Sun Belt play.

Katie Bange leads the Eagles with 2.85 kills per set and 282 total kills this season. Bange has led the Eagles with an impressive .295 hit percentage. Cathrine Murray (2.40 k/s) and Lauren Reichard (2.12 k/s) are the other two Eagles that have averaged over 2.00 kills per set.

Two different Eagles have produced the majority of their assists this season. Kendra Koetter leads the team with 523 assists and 5.39 assists per set. Bange has totaled 462 assists and averaged 4.67 assists per set.

Defensively, Alex Beecher is by far and away the Eagles' digs leader with 491 total digs and has averaged an impressive 4.96 digs per set.
