BOONE, N.C. – Appalachian State University men’s and women’s tennis hosted its annual alumni weekend for all former tennis student-athletes.

The Mountaineers held events on Friday and Saturday in conjunction with the football game against Georgia State.

App State participated in a golf outing on Friday at the Boone Golf Club followed by a 6 p.m. dinner in the chancellor’s box at Kidd Brewer Stadium. On gameday, both teams played tennis and had a tailgate prior to kickoff.

“This was a way for former tennis athletes to come back to Boone and have a great time,” said head coach Bob Lake. “The weather was perfect on Saturday, and everybody had a blast."

For new women’s tennis head coach Blake Mosley, it was the first alumni weekend he took in."I was excited to have everyone back in Boone this weekend," mentioned Mosley. "It was a great opportunity to meet some of the former Mountaineers that played here.

The men's team will get back to action this weekend in the College of Charleston Tournament after having nearly a month off while the women will return to the court Oct. 20-21 for ITA Regionals in Chapel Hill and the North Carolina Central Invite in Durham.
