BOONE, N.C. - Former Appalachian State University volleyball standout Maggie Seeds was recently profiled by the American Physical Society.

Seeds, a 2012 graduate, was featured for her accomplishments in physics in a section titled "Physicist Profiles: What You Can Do With Physics." Seeds graduated Appalachian with a BS in applied physics and a concentration in astronomy. Seeds currently works as a consultant at Clarkston Consulting.

Seeds credits her physics major for her success today. "My physics background helped my brain to think analytically, and persevere through tough situations," she said.

While at App State, Seeds was a consistent starter on the volleyball team, finishing her career with 264 career block assists, the seventh-best mark in school history. Seeds also earned a spot on the SoCon academic all-conference team every season and earned Capital One/CoSida all-district honors.
