SPARTNANBURG, S.C. – Appalachian State University men's tennis earned five all-league nods, the Southern Conference announced on Monday.

The Mountaineers saw two doubles teams and three individual players earn all-SoCon honors including a trio of all-freshman selections for a squad that finished fourth in league play and earned a bye in this week's SoCon Tournament.

Appalachian's No. 1 doubles tandem of Zach Bost and Sebastien King earned first team all-league honors after finishing 12-5 overall and 7-2 in SoCon play during the season. The duo led the league in overall wins and tied for third in conference victories.

Also earning all-league honors in doubles was the No. 2 team of Oliver Casey and Daniel Hoang. The duo was named as a second team all-SoCon selection after compiling a 10-8 record during the regular season, including a 7-2 mark in league play.

In addition to their doubles honors, Casey and Hoang were also named as all-freshman selections along with teammate Jack Maddocks. Casey finished 13-7 overall and 6-3 in league play as the Mountaineers' primary No. 2 singles player. Hoang was 9-11 overall and 5-3 against SoCon foes while spending most of the season at No. 3.

Maddocks, who joined the team in January after finishing high school in his native Australia, went 12-9 on the season and 7-2 in SoCon play while spending the majority of the year at No. 5 in the lineup.

The five all-SoCon honors are the most for any Appalachian State squad in a single season, besting the previous mark of three in 1996 and 2012.

The Mountaineers (9-12, 6-3 SoCon) earned the No. 4 seed in this week's league tournament and will take on No. 5 Samford at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday for a spot in the semifinals.
