BOONE, N.C. - Appalachian State University women's basketball will travel to Missoula, Montana on Friday to compete in the Lady Griz Classic, hosted by the University of Montana.
The Mountaineers are set to play UC Irvine on Friday at 7:30 p.m., before playing either Montana or Idaho on Saturday in the two-day tournament.

Appalachian State 1-5
The Mountaineers come off of a 62-43 to N.C. A&T on Wednesday night, making their overall record 1-5 for the 2013-14 season.
Maryah Sydnor led the team in points, scoring 13 and grabbing seven rebounds.
KeKe Cooper recorded her third career double-double with 11 points and a career-high 14 rebounds in the loss.
The Apps had their worst shooting game so far this season in the loss, shooting 29.6 percent (16-54) from the floor.
The last time the Mountaineers started a season with a 1-5 record was in 2008-09 during head coach Darcie Vincent's first season at Appalachian.
Friday will mark the first meeting between UC Irvine and Appalachian State. This is also App State's first meeting with a Big West opponent.
The winner of UC Irvine vs. App State will play the winner of Idaho vs. Montana on Saturday. The losing teams of these game will also meet on Saturday.
Appalachian has never met Idaho or Montana in program history.
Scouting the Anteaters
UC Irvine 4-3
The Anteaters will go into Friday's game after losing to North Dakota State last Saturday, 62-61.
Camille Buckley led UC Irvine with 15 points on the game, while Kelly Meggs and Jennifer Tsurumoto added 14 in the loss.
Buckley leads the team in points per game with an average of 15.6.
Tsurumoto is second on the team with an average of 13..6 points per game.
Buckley also leads the team in rebounds with an average of 10.6 per game.
The Anteaters are shooting 35.4 percent from the floor this season, while opponents are shooting 35.9 percent.
Scouting the Vandals
The Vandals will play Montana on Friday after beating Carroll College 67-39 on Tuesday.
Stacey Barr led the team in points with 20 and grabbed eight rebounds in the win.
Alyssa Charlston pulled down ten rebounds to lead the team.
Barr leads the team with 16.5 points per game, while Charlston averages 13.9 on the season.
Barr and Charlston also lead the team in rebounds per game with 8.0 and 8.9, respectively.
The Vandals hold a 36.8 field goal percentage on the season, while holding opponents to a 35.8 percentage.
Scouting the Grizzlies
The Grizzlies will meet Idaho on Friday after winning against Loyola Marymount, 49-47 last week.
Carly Selvig led the team with 12 points and pulling down seven rebounds.
Jordan Sullivan grabbed nine rebounds to lead the team.
Torry Hills leads the Grizzlies this season in points per game with an average of 14.8.
Sullivan has the largest average of rebounds per game with 5.8.
The Grizzlies have shot 37.1 from the floor this season, while holding opponents to a 35.3 percentage.
The Mountaineers will travel to Radford, Va. to take on Radford on Dec. 16 at 7 p.m.
