BOONE, N.C. – Appalachian State University basketball fans will be given the chance to win prizes in a series of great promotions during the Mountaineers' contest against Charlotte on Sunday at the Holmes Center.

Gates open one hour prior to the 2 p.m. contest and fans can purchase great seats HERE or by calling the Appalachian State Athletics Ticket Office at 1-800-919-2777.

Sunday's promotions will be highlighted by a half-court shot attempt by one Appalachian student in attendance. If the student makes the shot he/she will win a $5,000 tuition credit towards their Appalachian State student account.

In addition, Jump! of Boone will provide inflatable games for all children in attendance and Higher Ground will perform the national anthem. Fans will also be treated to a performance by the Mini Mountaineer Dance Team, along with the Appalachian State Elite Dance Team and Appalachian State Cheerleaders.

A halftime basketball game featuring local teams from the Special Olympics will also take place on Sunday. For more information about Sunday's promotions or other promotions throughout the year, contact Patrick Meiburg in the Appalachian State Athletics Marketing office at 828-262-6554.

Fans can also catch head cach Jason Capel on Friday at noon as he makes an appearance on ESPN 730-AM in Charlotte to talk about Sunday's in-state battle.
