BOONE, N.C. - Appalachian State University men's track will host the first indoor meet of the season on Thursday and Friday at the Holmes Center.

The meet will kick off on Thursday with the weight throw and triple jump beginning at 6 p.m. and will resume on Friday at 1 p.m.

The Mountaineers will host nine other schools in Boone, including Virginia Tech, Western Carolina, USC Upstate, King, Milligan, Brevard, Mars Hill, Lees-McRae and Livingstone.

The men's team will look to repeat their Southern Conference Indoor Championship from the 2012-13 season.

The Mountaineers return Stanley Broaden, who broke the SoCon and App State record in the preliminary round of the 60 m hurdles and then claimed the title in the finals last season.

Marshall McRae will be expected to lead the team in sprints this eason after picking up two points in the 60m dash for the Mountaineers in last year's championship. Trey Edgerton finished eighth in the 400m last season to add to the Apps overall score.

Raphael Rojas finished in third-place in the 800m as he crossed the line at 1:54.35, earning six points for the Apps.

The 4x400m relay team will return three members in Edgerton, Rojas and Broaden this season. The team crossed the finish-line in second-pace at the championships last season.

Two jumpers will also look to continue last year's sucess as Jamaal Tiller clinched a triple-jump title and set a facility record, while Adedeji Adeneye placed third in the event. 

The Apps will return to action on Jan. 17 when they travel to the ETSU Invitational in Johnson City, Tenn.
