SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Appalachian State University men's tennis turned in another impressive performance at the Wofford Tournament over the weekend.

The Mountaineers combined to go 19-5 in singles play and 6-6 in doubles action while taking on opponents from Gardner-Webb, Winthrop and Wofford.

In No. 1 singles action, Sebastien King snagged a first-round victory over Wofford's Haris Poric and finished 2-1 on the weekend

Oliver Casey went undefeated at No. 2 singles for the Mountaineers. He picked up a win over Wofford's Jackson Keith before also taking down Nikita Zverkov of Gardner-Webb and Winthrop's Corey Decandia.

At No. 3 singles, Zach Bost also finished unbeaten as he won in straight sets over Wofford's Walker Heffron, GWU's Ernest Alberch and Winthrop's Michael Chen.

Matt Saltsgaver dropped his first two matches at No. 4 singles before picking up a win on Sunday against Chase Alteri of Winthrop. Jan-Willem Kleynhans was impressive in singles play with a 3-0 showing at the No. 5 spot.

Steve Lake finished 2-1 in the No. 6 position while Robert Jenkins posted the same record at the No. 7 spot. Eric Greene rounded out Appalachian's singles competitors with a perfect 3-0 mark at the No. 8 position.

In doubles action, the duo of King/Bost finished 2-1 at the No. 1 position while Casey/Kleynhans finished 2-1 at No. 2 doubles. The No. 3 team of Jenkins/Lake finished 1-2 while the No. 4 team of Saltsgaver/Greene went 1-2.

The Mountaineers return to action at the ITA Regional Championships next weekend in Chapel Hill.
