CLEVELAND, Ohio – Appalachian State University men's golf finished up the first day of the John Telich Invitational in Cleveland, Ohio on Monday.
The Mountaineers found themselves sitting in ninth place overall as a team after round one – shooting a score of 297.
Casey Komline, who won the Myrtle Beach Intercollegiate last week, led the Mountaineers shooting a 73 in round one and sitting in a tie for 23rd. Patrick Moriarty is right behind Komline after firing a 74 on Monday and sits tied for 29th. Lee Mitchell and Caleb Keck both ended up shooting a 75 and sitting tied for 37th. Eric Eberspeaker is tied for 46th after day one with a first round 76.
Playing as an individual for the Mountaineers is John Michael Cole who finished the first ro of play tied for 14th after firing a 71.
