BOONE, N.C. – Appalachian State University women's tennis will open its 2013 Fall schedule when it participates in the Wake Forest Invitational this weekend in Winston-Salem.

The tournament runs from Friday through Sunday and will be the first action for the Mountaineers after the squad turned in an impressive 14-9 season a year ago, including a 6-4 mark in Southern Conference play.

Appalachian returns six players from last year's team, including reigning SoCon Freshman of the Year Clare Cox, who posted a 15-8 record in her first season. In all, the Mountaineer roster is comprised of one senior, five sophomores and four freshman.

Results and a complete recap of the Wake Forest Invitational will be posted at the conclusion of the tournament on Sunday.
