BOONE, N.C. – Appalachian State University women's tennis head coach Colin Crothers revealed his squad's schedule for the upcoming fall season on Thursday.

The Mountaineers, who return a total of six players from last year's squad that finished 14-9 and posted the first national ranking (No. 65) in school history a year ago, will compete in three events this fall.

"We lost three starters to graduation, so we have a young but talented team," said Crothers. "These are tough tournaments that hopefully will prepare us for the spring season."

Appalachian begins the fall campaign with a trip just across US-421 to participate in the Wake Forest Invitational from Sept. 27-29.

The Mountaineers will then take almost a month of from competition before heading to Chapel Hill for the ITA Regional Championships from Oct. 17-21 before closing out the fall season with a trip across the state to the ECU Invitational from Oct. 31-Nov. 2.

Appalachian's 2013-14 roster includes just one senior in Jessica Thaggard, but the Mountaineers do return the reigning Southern Conference Freshman of the Year in Clare Cox.
