Football Notebook: Moore, Miller Speak to Media

BOONE, N.C. — Appalachian State University head coach Jerry Moore and senior running back Steven Miller shared their thoughts on Saturday's postseason opener versus Illinois State during Tuesday's Southern Conference media teleconference.

ACROSS THE AIRWAVES THIS WEEK: Saturday's NCAA Division I Football Championship second-round matchup between No. 7/6 Appalachian State and No. 16/15 Illinois State will be the topic of discussion on radio shows across the state of North Carolina this week.

On Wednesday, the "Voice of the Mountaineers" David Jackson will appear on the 2 Guys Named Chris Show on Rock 92 (92.3 FM - Triad) between 10:30-11 a.m. As part of his appearance, DJ will have tickets for Saturday's Appalachian-Illinois State playoff duel to give away to listeners. Later on Wednesday, Moore will appear on the The Sports Pulse with Mike Pacheco and Appalachian alum Bobby Rosinski on ESPN 730 AM in Charlotte. The Sports Pulse airs from 3-6 p.m. and can be heard online HERE.

Moore returns to the airwaves on Thursday, as he is tentatively scheduled to appear statewide on the David Glenn Show at 1:35 p.m. The David Glenn Show can be heard on radio stations across North Carolina (click HERE for a complete list of affiliates) and online by clicking HERE.

GREAT TICKETS REMAIN FOR SATURDAY'S GAME: Great seats are still available for Saturday's second-round playoff battle between the Mountaineers and Redbirds (kickoff set for 2 p.m. at Kidd Brewer Stadium).

With a forecast for temperatures in the 50s and clear skies, ticket sales are expected to be brisk for the remainer of the week leading up to the game. Tickets ($25 for adults, $15 for youth, ages 3-12), can be purchased onlne by clicking HERE, by phone at (828) 262-2079 or in person at the Appalachian State athletics ticket office, located at the Holmes Center.

All Appalachian State students will be admitted to Saturday's game for FREE, as Appalachian athletics will cover the $5 ticket cost for all App State students in attendance. Like regular-season games, Appalachian students will be admitted for free by showing their student ID at the Kidd Brewer Stadium gate.

ANNOUNCERS SELECTED FOR ESPN3 BROADCAST: Saturday's game is not televised but can be seen live online on ESPN3. Ryan Rose (play-by-play), former Buffalo Bills running back Rene' Ingoglia (analyst) and Angela Mallen (sideline reporter) will call the action for the broadcast.
