"Today I Give My ALL For Appalachian State" is the foundation for Appalachian State Athletics and the University as a whole. Together, Appalachian administrators and students have developed an initiative to encourage first-class conduct at all Appalachian athletic events.
We all share in the responsibility of promoting good sportsmanship at games and ensuring that past, present and future Mountaineers learn the positive nature of supporting our teams.
The CLASS (Champions Love Appalachian State Spirit) initiative gives us a mechanism to guide all external friends of the University that will lead to a positive and enthusiastic gameday atmosphere. Director of Athletics Charlie Cobb emphasizes that, “we want everyone to understand their role in creating home field advantage, but more importantly, realizing the responsibility we all share in representing Appalachian State University.”
C - Clean Up After Yosef! Take pride in our beautiful campus and leave it better than when you arrived.
L - Let your actions represent the best of Appalachian State. Alcohol is a privilege during tailgating at ASU, not a right.
A - Always be positive in your support of our team, coaches and players and wear your Black and Gold.
S - Show respect for our visitors and game officials. Cheer loudly, but with appropriate language.
S - Show respect for yourself and fellow Mountaineers – especially young fans.
The main goal of the CLASS program is to promote sportsmanship at all of our events, educate everyone on the benefits of a positive and united message for our student-athletes and to give our all for Appalachian State.
