BOONE, N.C. — ESPN and the Sun Belt Conference have announced that Appalachian State University football's Sun Belt opener at Georgia State will air live on the new ESPN College Extra platform on Saturday. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m., live from the Georgia Dome in Atlanta.
ESPN College Extra airs selected ESPN3 broadcasts on the following cable/satellite television providers: AT&T U-verse, DIRECTV, Bright House Networks, Cox, Time Warner Cable and Verizon FiOS. Those providers deliver ESPN College Extra on up to eight channels through a sports tier or other affiliated TV package (check with your provider for availability via your subscription).
Saturday's game will still be shown live on ESPN3, ESPN's online platform for live events that is available at no additional cost to fans with an affiliated internet or video subscription. ESPN3 is accessible to more than 99 million households nationwide online at WatchESPN.com, on smartphones and tablets via the WatchESPN app and streamed on televisions through Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Stick, Apple TV, Chromecast, Roku, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
FOUR-PACK TICKET SPECIALS INTRODUCED FOR GEORGIA SOUTHERN GAME: Appalachian State athletics announced on Wednesday that two four-pack ticket specials have been established for the Mountaineers' nationally televised home game versus archrival Georgia Southern on Thursday, Oct. 22.
While supplies last for one of the most anticipated home games in Mountaineer history, fans can purchase four regular reserved tickets for just $115 (a savings of $25) or four prime reserved tickets for just $125 (a savings of $35).
The Georgia Southern four-pack specials go on sale Thursday (Oct. 8) at 9 a.m. and can be purchased online by clicking HERE, by phone at (828) 262-2079 or in person at the Appalachian State athletics ticket office, located at the Holmes Center.
KIDD BREWER STADIUM RANKED AMONG NATION'S BEST FOR NATURAL SCENERY: Appalachian State's Kidd Brewer Stadium has been ranked No. 10 on LawnStarter.com's list of the “16 College Football Stadiums with the Best Natural Scenery.”
Kidd Brewer Stadium is the lone Sun Belt Conference facility on the list and the highest-ranked of three stadiums from the state of North Carolina, ahead of No. 11 Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium (East Carolina) and No. 14 Kenan Stadium (North Carolina).
Opened in 1962, Kidd Brewer Stadium sits on Appalachian State's scenic campus with a stunning view of nearby Howard's Knob and, for a large portion of each football season, the High Country's famous fall foliage. The Rock, as it is known to Mountaineer faithful, seats 23,150 and has featured above-capacity crowds for 55 of Appalachian's last 60 regular-season home games.
