BOONE, N.C. — Appalachian State University football will host in-state opponent North Carolina Central in 2016 and move its scheduled home date versus Massachusetts to 2020, the schools announced on Friday.
Appalachian State is set to host N.C. Central for the third time in eight seasons on Sept. 17, 2016. Appalachian's home date versus UMass, originally scheduled for Oct. 29, 2016, will now be played at Kidd Brewer Stadium on Sept. 26, 2020.
The arrangement gives Appalachian State at least one home game per season versus a non-conference FBS opponents through 2021.
