BOONE, N.C. - Appalachian State women's basketball head coach Darcie Vincent has announced that the team will sponser the annual Think Pink event during the game against UNCG on Saturday, Feb. 15.

Fans can help the Mountaineers fight breast cancer as all funds from the event will go to the Play4Kay organization.

Play4Kay was created to help support former NC State women's basketball coach Kay Yow and her fight with breast cancer. The Kay Yow Cancer Fund is committed to being a part of finding an answer in the fight against women’s cancers through raising money for scientific research, assisting the underserved and unifying people for a common cause.

Donations are encouraged during the day and activities, such as a silent auction, will be held in order to help raise money for the cause.

Women's basketball raised $4,000 during last year's event and has set a goal to surpass that this year.
