Biography

2016: Sat out entire 2016 season due to elbow injury.

2015: Despite battling injury that would eventually require Tommy John surgery, hit .280 with seven doubles, two home runs and 10 RBI in just 26 games (23 starts) … .280 average would have been tops among Appalachian State returners in 2016 … put together team’s longest hitting streak (10 games - March 17-April 17) and longest on-base streak (18 games - March 17-May 3) of the season … hit .385 (15-for-39) during 10-game hitting streak and reached base at a .372 clip during 18-game on-base streak … hit safely in 16 of his final 19 games of the season, including seven multi-hit efforts … recorded multiple hits in four-straight games from April 10-17 … doubled twice in win at eventual Sun Belt regular-season champion South Alabama (April 11 - Game 1) … had two RBI at South Alabama (April 11 - Game 2) and Arkansas State (April 26) … made seven appearances on the mound with two starts … had three scoreless relief outings against ACC competition - one inning at Wake Forest (Feb. 25), two innings at NC State (March 4), one inning at home vs. Wake Forest (March 25).

2014: Was Appalachian State’s second-leading hitter as a true freshman with a .306 average over 40 games (121 AB) … made 30 starts (25 at DH, 3 in RF, 1 in CF, 1 in LF) … was the Mountaineers’ primary starting designated hitter over the second half of the season … became a fixture in the lineup thanks in large part to a 15-game hitting streak from March 5-April 13 … 15-game hit streak was Appalachian State’s longest of the season … hit a blistering .473 (26-for-55) with 10 multi-hit games, two doubles, three home runs and 14 RBI during the 15-game streak … went 2-for-4 in each of his two starts at Georgia Southern (March 21-22) … had five-straight multi-hit games from April 2-8 (home vs. ETSU, three-game series at Wofford, home vs. High Point) … had walk-off single in 7-6 win over ETSU (April 2) … matched a season high with three hits against HPU (April 8 - 3-for-4 with two RBI and a run) … closed the 15-game hitting streak by going 5-for-13 with two home runs, a triple and six RBI in three game home set against The Citadel (April 11-13) … went 2-for-3 with a home run and a career-high four RBI in the finale against The Citadel (April 13) … named Southern Conference Player of the Week after going 8-for-15 with eight RBI in four games from April 7-13 … broke out of a four-game hitless slump by matching his season high with three hits in 11-0 win at Virginia Tech (April 22) … closed the season with just two hits in his final 27 at-bats to see hit average slide from a season-high .412 to a still-impressive .306 at the end of the campaign … also made two appearances on the mound, facing two batters at Arkansas (Feb. 16) and three at Georgia Southern (March 23).

High School: Selected in the 24th round (716th overall) of the 2013 Major League Baseball Draft by the New York Mets ... was the first high-school player from the state of Illinois selected in the 2013 MLB Draft and the first player from Moline H.S. to be drafted since 1969 ...
