NEW ORLEANS, La.
- Appalachian State University men's cross country was named to the 2013 All-Academic
cross country team, announced Thursday.
To qualify as a USTFCCCA All-Academic Cross Country Team, the team must have a cumulative team grade-point average of 3.00 or better and have started at least five runners at regionals.
The Black and Gold earned a team cumulative GPA of 3.172 in the
fall semester and qualified for the NCAA Southeast Regional in early November.
After earning its 15th Southern Conference
Championship in October the Apps earned a chance to compete in the Southeast
Regional in Charlotte, N.C., where they finished 13th of 34 teams.
Senior Sean Soderman paced
the Mountaineers as he crossed the line 44th overall in the 10,000m
events. Soderman posted a personal-record in his final meet of his senior
campaign as he crossed the line at 31:11.55, while senior Michael Lilley finished at a personal-best 31:42.84.
