Ten Questions With Soccer's Dana Murphy

Each Friday, GoASU.com will feature three student-athletes in a 10 Questions segment. This week, soccer's Dana Murphy (Greensboro, N.C./Greensboro Day) took the time to sit down and answer 10 questions. 1. You started out the season with five assists in six games and then scored four goals in the next seven. What accounted for the change in your offensive production? A. I haven't played different at all. You get what you get. You don't go out to get a goal or assist. I don't have a preference for either one as long as we're winning. 2. What's your most memorable goal or assist? A. The overtime goals are always good. In my senior year of high school I scored in the last couple of minutes to win the state championship game, so that's probably my favorite. 3. Who's the most intense player on this year's team A. Either Lindsay Moore or Meagan Farrell, and both are captains. 4. Who's the most easygoing member of the team? A. Suzanne Fossum is very easygoing but very solid. And she plays next to Meagan on the field so they kind of balance each other out. 5. What's your favorite thing about playing for coach Popoola? A. He's pretty funny, and when we do something good, he's very positive and congratulates us. 6. How does this year's team compare to others you've been on here? A. This year's team is much closer. We all seem to be tighter than before from the seniors down through the freshmen. 7. What's your favorite class? A. Right now my dance appreciation class. Overall I really liked a presentation class I had for interior design. 8. What are your goals for the rest of the season? A. To keep winning. We've got to win the rest of the games we have to do well. We're doing really well and I know we're capable of that. 9. What's your favorite sport other than soccer? A. Basketball. I played in high school all four years. 10. How much of an impact have the underclassmen made? A. Casey Cleary has obviously had a huge impact. Brooke Humphrey has also gotten much better in back and I think that she'll step up even more. When the freshmen come in, they make the upperclassmen work harder because they come in so intense and hungry. They push us to be better.
