Men’s T&F Wraps Up Day Two of Charlotte Invite

CHARLOTTE, N.C. –– Appalachian State University men's track and field wrapped up the Charlotte Invitational on Saturday afternoon.

The Mountaineers finished the day with six first-place finishes to help round out the Charlotte Invite.

William Buckley won the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.47 seconds, while Antonio Marcano Jr. finished fourth with a time of 10.60 and Jordan Johnson took sixth with a time of 10.73.

After winning the 800-meter run (fast section) on day one on Friday, Ryan Hastings claimed a first-place finish in the 400-meter dash with a time of 47.97. Josh Hanna took 11th with a time of 49.62, while Jaxon Roberts finished 15th with a time of 50.04.

Phillip Thomas won the pole vault with a height of 16-2.75 feet. 

Elliott Graves won the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 52.81. Brandon Smith finished ninth with a time of 54.87.

Graves also took third place in the 110-meter hurdles, finishing in a time of 14.62, while Andrew Spear finished sixth with a time of 14.92.

Both Mountaineer relay teams claimed wins on the day. App State's 4x100-meter relay team of Marcano Jr., Buckley, Johnson and Graves won with a time of 40.56. 

The 4x400-meter relay team of Smith, Sean Doyle, Jabari Johnson and Hastings won with a time of 3:18.70. 

Hanna took 16h in the 200-meter dash and Roberts finished 20th. Hanna ran a time of 22.61, while Roberts finished in 23.23.

In the 800-meter run, Evan Georges placed eighth with a time of 1:56.86, while Doyle finished ninth with a time of 1:57.74. Michael Flanagan finished 15th with a time of 2:00.58. 

Jordan Dale finished fourth in the hight jump, clearing 6-4.75 feet. Nick Hinton placed sixth (6-4.75), Daniel Lauffenburger took eighth (6-2.75) and Cole Finch placed 12th (6-0.75). 

Nicolas Botett placed 11th in the shot put with a distance of 47-11.25 feet, while Michael Albert took 14th with a throw of 46-8.25. 

In the discus, Albert placed 12th (146-0.00), Peter Kenn took 13th (144-7.00), Mason Poteat finished 16th (139-1.00) and Botett took 19th (135-3.00).
