BOONE, N.C. - This spring, Appalachian State Athletics has implemented a ticket sales team comprised of seven current students to be the team “on the ground” in and around the Boone area to work to grow of ticket sales for all sports at App State.
The seven-week program includes training sessions to learn ticketing software and sales strategies. With the help of the ticket office staff and the Yosef Club, the students will aim to contribute to the goal of retaining last season's season ticket holders at a level of 85%. Students gain applicable sales experience that will benefit them, and help build their resumes, for the future.
"We are very excited to offer this opportunity for our students to learn about collegiate athletics ticket sales and revenue sources,” Assistant Director of Development for the Yosef Club, Derek Shook said on Friday. “With their help, we hope they acquire critical skills to become confident in their abilities while promoting the wonderful athletic programs we have here at Appalachian."
Through the first two weeks of the program, the team has sold almost $17,000 worth of ticket renewals, and almost 100 season tickets. The sales team improved from almost $7,000 of renewal revenue in week one to over $10,000 and 50 season tickets in week two, a more than 50 percent improvement.
The sales staff reaches out to both help renewal accounts, and to those who have not yet indicated their choice for 2017 season tickets. The staff also approaches prospect lists of individuals who have attended games in the past, but are not yet season ticket holders.
2017 Football Season Tickets - Season tickets are available to purchase now, online at appstatesports.com/tickets, by phone at (828) 262-2079 or in person at the Appalachian State athletics ticket office, located at the Holmes Center. Office hours are Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
