BOONE, N.C. - Appalachian State University men's tennis (12-7) finishes the regular season on Senior Day against Davidson at Stadium Courts on Saturday.
Appalachian will honor seniors Jack Maddocks and Trey Morris for their dedication and commitment to the program. The duo has helped App win 46 victories in the past four years while combining for over 80 singles victories and over 60 doubles wins.
The Mountaineers have four student-athletes with at least 12 wins, while Scott Webster's 13 wins in singles play are a team best. Jack Maddocks, Trey Morris and Milo Bargeron all have 12 victories. Maddocks can tie his career mark, and Morris has surpassed last season's win total. Bargeron has made a splash in his debut season with 12 wins, the most for a freshman since Webster's 18 wins two seasons ago. Appalachian is 60-40 (.600) overall in singles competition.
App State has a 32-18 (.640) in doubles play led by Bargeron and Webster, who has a 9-2 mark and winners of three-straight matches. Maddocks and Morris are 8-2 this season while Alex Brea and Alex Pavkovich are 6-5 after their win against GWU on Monday.
Davidson is a solid 15-7 this season after coming off a 4-1 setback to UNC Greensboro on Thursday. The Wildcats have fallen in three of their last five matches following a four-match win streak. Davidson is led by five student-athletes with at least 10 wins, including two who have at least 15 victories. Axel Fries is 17-4 this season while David Hager boasts a 16-5 mark. The pair is a combined 33-9 this season en route to the Wildcats posting an 83-40 record in singles.
Leading Davidson's doubles team is Fries and J.B. Gough, who are 15-5 as the top duo on the team. Davidson is 37-19 overall.
App will await its seeding for the 2017 Sun Belt Tournament in New Orleans.
