App State Ninth After 36 Holes at Panther Inter.

STOCKBRIDGE, Ga. – Appalachian State climbed one spot and is tied for ninth in a field of 15 teams after two rounds of the 24th Annual John Kirk Panther Intercollegiate, which continued on Monday at Eagles Landing Golf Club.

App State (+45) fired a team 309 and is tied with UAB ( after 36 holes of competition, five strokes back of Sun Belt foe Georgia State (+40). The Mountaineers lead Western Michigan (+46) by one and Western Carolina (+51) by six.

Eastern Kentucky (+14) leads No. 48 Kansas State by one stroke for the overall lead. Murray State is third (+19). EKU's Elsa Moberly (-5) holds a four-stroke lead for medalist honors.

Senior Hannah Craver (Winston-Salem, N.C.) is tied for 24th after a solid 76 (+4) on Monday. She had four bogeys and 14 pars in her round and is 8-over for the tournament.

Freshman Melany Chong (Hilton Head Island, S.C.) is tied for 45th and started her round strong, she was 2-under through seven holes eventually firing a 75 (+3). She is 12-over for the week.

Emily Stinson (Charlotte, N.C.) carded an 81 (+9) and slipped to 48th.

Sophomore Jo Elias (Jamestown, N.C.) fired an 80 (+8) and is tied for 52nd.

Savanna Wood (Boone, N.C.) fired a 78 (+6) and is tied for 67th.

App's Patricia Thompson (Granite Falls, N.C.) is tied for 71st playing as an individual.

Tuesday's final round begins at 9 a.m.
