Apps Look To Ride Momentum Into Senior Night

BOONE, N.C.- Appalachian State University women's tennis (4-9)  looks to put together a pair of back-to-back wins against Grand Canyon on Thursday at Deer Valley Racquet Club.

This will be the Mountaineers senior night as Gabrielle WrederMcKayla Zupan and Megan Mullen will be honored before the match.

After five days off, the Black and Gold look to knock Grand Canyon (4-4) under .500 on their first east coast road trip of the year. 

Taylor Bygrave has won seven-straight singles matches and looks to continue her dominance against Grand Canyon. The Mountaineers are 13-20 on the year in doubles matches and in each of their wins, App State has notched the doubles point. Mullen and Swope both have five wins under their belts in singles play. 

The duo Swope and Zupan lead the team with a 6-5 mark as the No. 2 duo on the team. 

Grand Canyon is 4-4 this season with a 2-3 record on the road. The Antelopes come into the match riding a two-match win streak while boasting a 26-16 singles record on the year. Emilia Occhipinti touts a perfect 7-0 record on the season in singles play and has been apart of four doubles victories.

The Apps look to ride the momentum into senior night on Thursday against the Antelopes. The first serve is set for 2 p.m.
