Appalachian State will look to build off of back-to-back victories over two of the Sun Belt's top teams last weekend in Georgia State and Georgia Southern. The Mountaineers will face-off against the Jaguars of South Alabama for the first and only time this season on Saturday, Feb. 18. Tipoff is slated for 8:05 p.m. ET from inside the Mitchell Center.

SETTING THE SCENE
• Appalachian State will look for a season-high third win in a row tonight at South Alabama as it begins a two-game road trip in the state of Alabama.
• The Mountaineers trail the all-time series against the Jaguars, 3-1. App State's lone win in the series came in the team's first year in the Sun Belt - a 64-53 win on Jan. 22, 2015.
• The Black and Gold have seemed to turn a corner this season, earning back-to-back wins over first-place foes Georgia State and Georgia Southern.
• All three of the Mountaineer conference victories have come against teams in the top four of the league this season (A-State, Ga. St., Ga. Southern).
• Last time out against the Eagles, Griffin Kinney notched a career-high 25 point night (6-for-10 FG) and added nine boards. He made a career-high 13 free throws on 20 attempts.
• As a team, the Mountaineers have hit the eighth-most 3-pointers in a season (208). The record for App State is 279.
• According to Ken Pomeroy, the Mountaineers are ranked the 15th youngest team in the country (336/351).
• Ronshad Shabazz is fourth in the Sun Belt in scoring during conference games (17.7 ppg). He is third for the season rankings (16.8 ppg).
• In last weekend's victories, Shabazz posted his 21st and 22nd double-digit scoring games of the season and now has 40 for his career.
• Patrick Good tallied 11 points in the Mountaineers' 83-78 win over Georgia Southern on Feb. 13. It marked his eighth double-digit scoring game of the season.
• Currently, the Johnson City, Tenn. native is second in the Sun Belt in 3-point percentage, shooting at a 44.9 percent clip.
• After hitting on 3-of-4 3-pointers vs. Georgia Southern, Good has now hit at least three 3-pointers in nine games.
• Isaac Johnson is averaging 6.5 rebounds per game to lead the team and has posted at least nine rebounds in six-of-his-last-eight contests.
• The last time a freshman led the Mountaineers in rebounding was 41 seasons ago when Mel Hubbard led the Black and Gold (7.7 rpg) during the 1975-76 season.
• Johnson is one of only two freshmen in the country to lead their team in rebounding and steals (Keith Braxton of St. Francis (Pa.).
SCOUTING THE JAGUARS
• South Alabama enters Saturday's game having lost its last contest at Louisiana 87-61.
• The Jaguars are 2-1 over their last three games, including wins at Troy and at UL Monroe.
• Ken Williams leads the team in scoring with 13.3 points per game, while Josh Ajayi has also posted double-figures with 10.9 per contest.
• As a team, the Jags are third in 3-point defense, allowing opponents to shoot just 31.6 percent. Conversely, the Jaguars shoot just 31.6 percent themselves which is last in the Sun Belt.
• Ajayi also leads the team in rebounding this season with 5.9 boards per game.
• South Alabama holds a -2.6 rebounding margin entering the game tonight.
