BOONE, N.C. - Appalachian State University men's tennis (0-1) hosts a pair of matches this weekend at the Deer Valley Racquet Club, beginning with Presbyterian on Saturday 12 p.m. and ending with Lees-McRae on Sunday at 9 a.m.

The Mountaineers suffered a 5-2 setback to UNC Wilmington in the first match of the spring slate last Saturday. Scott Webster and teammate Trey Morris picked up both points with a pair of singles victories. Both Morris and Webster have won their last three singles contests dating back to last season.
Milo Bargeron made a splash picking up his first doubles win with Morris as the No. 2 duo.
Last season, Appalachian posted a 3-1 mark at home.
Scouting Presbyterian (2-1)
The Blue Hose have defeated NC Central and USC Upstate in two of the first three matches PC is 11-7 in singles play with Ben Kelley and and Brandon Mills both with 3-0 starts in singles play. Joel Roberts and Kelley are also 3-0 in doubles competition as PC is 6-3 in doubles action to begin the season. App defeated Presbyterian last season in a 4-3 win, with Black and Gold taking three doubles matches while splitting singles, 3-3.
Scouting Lees-McRae (0-2)
Lees-McRae is 0-2 after falling to Averett and most recently, Catawba. The Apps dominated the Bobcats last season, 9-0, as the Black and Gold won all six singles matches and all three doubles contests.
App will start a string of 12-straight matches away from Boone, beginning with UNC Asheville next Saturday at 3 p.m.
