The Mountaineers Prep for the ETSU Invite

BOONE, N.C. - Appalachian State University women's track and field will roll down to Johnson City, Tenn. for the ETSU Track & Field Invitational on Friday, January 13 and Saturday, Jan. 14. This meet will be scored.

"The ETSU Invitational has always been and is a great way for us to start our indoor season," said head coach John Weaver. "There will be plenty of competition for us in evaluating the status of our athletes in terms of fitness, speed and strength after a long holiday layoff. I am sure they are anxious to get started as well. We are able to compete everyone who is healthy, and this does a lot to get us started as a team for the indoor season.  Also, the closeness of ETSU to us gives us a nice perk in not having to travel very far this early in the season."

The women's weight throw will be the first competition on Friday at 9 a.m. for the field events, and the women's 60-meter hurdles will serve as the first event on the track at 10 a.m. On Saturday, the running events will start at 8 a.m. with the women's 3,000 meters and the field events will commence at noon with the men's long jump and the women's pole vault.
