BOONE, N.C. –– For the second consecutive year, Appalachian State University men's basketball will participate in Coaches vs. Cancer: Suits and Sneakers Awareness Week.
The Mountaineer coaching staff will don sneakers with gold laces in memory of Lacey Holsworth, an 8-year-old basketball fan who died of cancer.
To help honor Lacey's memory, you can purchase a special pair of Princess Lacey's Laces from Shoe Carnival stores or shoecarnival.com/lacey.
The American Cancer Society will receive 85 percent of the proceeds from he campaign, and Princess Lacey's Legacy will receive 15 percent. The funds going to the American Cancer Society will be restricted to pediatric cancer.

JIM FOX PARTICIPATING IN SUBWAY'S COACHES VS. CANCER CAMPAIGN: Head coach Jim Fox will be one of a number of local Division I basketball coaches to participate in the Subway Coaches vs. Cancer campaign.
Subway is working with local American Cancer Society/Coaches vs. Cancer organizations to volunteer time and raise awareness to help and impact individuals and families in our community - so we can beat cancer.
Coach Fox is a part of a media campaign with fellow coaches Bob McKillop (Davidson), Tim Craft (Gardner-Webb), Mark Price (Charlotte) and Pat Kelsey (Winthrop) to help promote Subway's efforts.
Also as a part of the campaign, Coach Fox will appear in a local Subway restaurant for one hour and will serve as a guest sandwich artist.
APP STATE BASKETBALL ALUMNI DAY: Appalachian State basketball has announced its alumni day/game event will take place on Saturday. Feb. 25 when the Mountaineers play host to the Warhawks of ULM.
Tipoff against ULM is set for 3:30 p.m. and will air on ESPN3 via the WatchESPN app.
