App State Travels to Duke for ITA Regionals

BOONE, N.C. - Appalachian State University men's tennis will make the trip to Durham, N.C. for the 2016 ITA Carolina Regionals taking place on Duke's campus on Friday.

App State hasn't competed since the Southern Exposure Tournament that opened the fall at UNC Wilmington. Appalachian netted 11 wins in singles play and five victories in doubles play.

Stone Campbell highlighted the invitational finishing 3-0 en route to defeating the second seed in the bracket, Paul Hogan, to capture the flight. Trey Morris and Alex Pavkovich both came away with two wins to advance to the semifinals in Flight D. It was Morris and Pavkovich's first time as doubles partners.

In last season's ITA event, Appalachian turned in six wins in singles action and two in doubles competition. Scott Webster advanced to the Round of 16 in the consolation draws to highlight the returning Mountaineers.

Teams from the North Carolina and South Carolina region will attend the event.
