Appalachian State University volleyball, orginially scheduled to play at Georgia Southern on Friday, Oct. 7, had its match postponed due to impending inclement weather from Hurricane Matthew. The match will be made up at a later date.
The Mountaineers will play at Georgia State on Saturday, Oct. 8 as originally scheduled. First serve is set for 6 p.m.
FRESHMEN FORTITUDE
Freshman Emma Longley is currently 40th in the nation in kills per set (4.15) and also 24th nationally in total kills (274). She leads the Sun Belt in both categories.
Freshman Amanda Krahl is second on the squad with 7.68 assists per set this season, which trails teammate Ashlyn Brown's 7.83 kills per set.
SCOUTING THE PANTHERS
Georgia State enters the weekend with a 6-9 overall record, including an even 2-2 mark in Sun Belt play. Most recently the Panthers are coming off of a road sweep of both South Alabama and Troy.
Crystal Lee leads the Panthers with 2.30 kills per set, but Eliza Zachary leads the team in total kills with 116. Offensively, Sarah Renner has posted 9.12 assists per set, including 474 on the year.
Defensively, Celeste Friesen has totaled 195 digs and leads the squad with 3.75 digs per set.
