EARLYSVILLE, VA.  – Appalachian State University women's cross country gathered 219 team points to take tenth at the Virginia/Panorama Farms Invitational in Earlysville, Va. on Friday morning. Senior Tristin Van Ord was the Mountaineer's top finisher.

No. 19 BYU grabbed the team title scoring 47 team points. The second-place team was SMU with 89 points and the No. 16 Syracuse Orange rounded out the top three squads collecting 98 group points.

Regan Rome of William & Mary stole the individual title crossing the finish line in 17:01.10 in the 5K race. Sprinting behind her was Annie Bothma of Coastal Carolina (17:04.50) and Hannah Miller of SMU (17:10.30).

Puncturing a spot inside the top 20 was Van Ord who darted across the tape in 17:46.20 for 19th. At the 2K split, Van Ord stayed neck-and-neck with the leading pack positioning herself in tenth but dropped back nine spots at the end of the race.

The Mountaineer's second finisher was Torre Moser who cruised through the finish line with a time of 18:30.10 to land inside the top 50. Nine seconds later, Emily Fedders finished the 5K course with a personal-best of 18:39.00 and grabbed 55th-place out of 126 runners.

Other scorers for App State were Kerry Leonard in 57th, who broke her PR for the third time this season (18:42.10), and Phylissa Greeley in 60th (18:44.60).
