Women's Cross Country Rank at No. 15 in the Region

NEW ORLEANS. - For the first time this season, Appalachian State University women's cross country land on the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Southeast Regional Rankings on Monday. The women grab the 15th spot on the list.

App State joins Coastal Carolina as the only Sun Belt Conference representatives featured on the list, Coastal ranked at No. 8. Reigning at the top of Week 2's list is NC State for the second-consecutive week. Following the Wolfpack are Virginia at No. 2 and William and Mary at No. 3.

The Mountaineers dominated last Friday's field of competitors at the Mountains to Sea Duals held in the High Country. Tristin Van Ord and Torre Moser finished the race one and two, and Hana RatcliffePhylissa GreeleyNatalie Kile, and Kerry Leonard rounded out the top nine finishers. Appalachian swept over their opponents by beating out Miami 18-45, wiping out UNCW 15-50, and running over Western Carolina 18-44 in dual meet competition.

The Black and Gold will travel to Earlysville, Va.  for the Virginia/Panorama Farms Invitational on Friday, Sept. 23. The women's 5K will begin at 10 a.m.
