BOONE, N.C.  – Appalachian State University volleyball will look to end its three game skid on the road at former Southern Conference foe Western Carolina on Tuesday.

The Mountaineers are coming off of a weekend in which they lost three matches at the Black and Gold Invitational. Over the weekend, Emma Longley collected 43 kills including 3.91 kills per set. Ashlyn Brown and Amanda Krahl both saw action as the primary setter, tallying 67 and 50 assists, respectively.

Olivia Loeffler and Kati Stammen helped anchor the defense. Loeffler collected 46 digs, while Stammen totaled 32.

SCOUTING THE CATAMOUNTS
Western Carolina enters the mid-week match with a 3-4 overall record this season, including a 2-1 record on its home court. The Catamounts have earned wins over UAB, Charleston Southern and Georgetown thus far.

Two out of the Catamounts three victories this season have gone five sets, while their win over Georgetown was a straight-set sweep. WCU has been swept twice with its other two matches lasting four sets.

Abigail Veit currently leads the team with 65 kills and 2.41 kills per set. Jo-Leigh VerVelde has collected the vast majority of assists this season with 227 and is averaging 8.73 per set. Meagan Sanchez leads with 128 digs.

ALL-TIME SERIES
This will mark the 29th all-time meeting between both programs. The Mountaineers hold a 49-29 advantage in the series, including a straight-set sweep last season (Sept. 15, 2015) in Boone.
