Women's Golf in Seventh at Sun Belt Championship

MIRAMAR, Fla— Appalachian State University women's golf completed the first round of the 2016 Sun Belt Conference Championship at the Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort on the Raven Course. The Mountaineers shot 315 as a team and sit in seventh place going into Monday's second round. 

Troy is looking for its third-straight title and lead the tournament at 300 followed by Texas State at 301 and Little Rock at 309. 

Emily Stinson shot the low round of the day for App State with a 76. At four over par, Stinson sits in a tie for 12th place. Savanna Wood finished one stroke behind Stinson with a round-one 75. Wood enters the second round tied for 16th place.

Hannah Craver carded a 79 in her opening round of the tournament. Craver sits in a tie for 24th place with 36 holes remaining. Madalyn Davis posted a round-one 83 and is tied for 38th place. Joliana Elias rounded out the Mountaineer lineup by shooting 89 in her first-career Sun Belt round. Elias is in 43rd place.

The Mountaineers will begin teeing off the second round at 8:30 a.m. ET and will continue to tee off until 9:06 a.m.
