Men's Tennis Faces Rival in Regular Season Finale
BOONE, N.C.  -  Appalachian State University men's tennis (12-6) concludes the regular season with a road trip to Statesboro, Ga., for  a showdown against archrival Georgia Southern (15-5) at 2 p.m. in the Wallis Tennis Center.

The Mountaineers are coming off a pair of losses last weekend to solid squads in Charlotte (12-6) and Davidson (11-9). Appalachian is ending the season against three opponents that have a combined .655 (38-20) winning percentage going into the conference tournament.

Despite the setbacks, Oliver Casey and Jack Maddocks finished 2-0 in doubles play while Zach Bost won his team-leading 13th win against Charlotte on Friday.

Bost's 13 wins is a career high and counting, while sporting a team-best 8-2 mark over his last 10 singles matches. Three other student-athletes have 11 victories in Scott Webster, Maddocks and Casey. Maddocks is 7-2 over his last nine contests and Trey Morris is one win away from 10 victories as his record stands at 9-7. Appalachian is 63-39 (.618) in singles competition.

In doubles play, Casey and Maddocks owns the team's longest win streak at six victories their 12 wins is tied for a team high. As the No. 1 duo, Webster and Jan-Willem Kleynhans is 12-2 and 9-1 over their last 10 matches. The two tandems are a combined 24-5 and owns 24 of 35 doubles wins.  Partnered as primarily the third duo in the lineup, Bost and Morris need one more win for their 10th victory of the season.

The Eagles have been streaking with six-straight wins and are 9-2 in their last 11 contests. GASO is 6-2 at home this season and is led by Rise Lanne. Lanne is 16-1 in singles play as the team's No. 1 in the lineup while on a six-match win streak. JC Acala and Eddie Landin are both second with 12 wins but Ze Moya has been hot with a 10-2 mark and a five-match win streak. GASO is 107-70 (.605) in singles play this season.

Acala and Landin are 8-2 in doubles competition to lead the way. GASO has had multiple lineups this season while boasting a 44-34 (.564) mark.

App State will head to New Orleans for the Sun Belt Tournament next week in New Orleans.
