BOONE, N.C. - Appalachian State University men's tennis (12-4 ) will head to Charlotte, N.C. for a pair of matches on Friday and Saturday. The Mountaineers will play host Charlotte (10-5) at 2:30 p.m. before concluding the weekend against Davidson (10-8) at 1 p.m.
Appalachian is coming off a solid 6-1 victory over Winthrop on Saturday, Mar. 26. App State took home the doubles point before capturing five of six singles matches en route to its sixth-straight triumph.
Scott Webster won his fifth match in a row at the No. 1 spot to clinch the victory for the Mountaineers. Webster is 11-2 this season including a 9-1 mark as the No. 1 in the lineup. In his first 35 matches, Webster is a staggering 29-6 at App State.
The Mountaineers haven't lost since Feb. 28 (College of Charleston) while the Black and Gold has outscored opponents 32-4 and five of six wins during the streak have either been a shutout or the opposition scoring just one point.
Four student-athletes have at least 11 wins, which is the first time since the 2012 season when the Mountaineers had four student-athletes accomplish the feat.Senior
Zach Bost has a team-high 12 wins in singles play as the No. 5 and 6 in the lineup. The Georgia native is 9-1 over the past 10 matches and is currently on a six-match win streak.

Oliver Casey is a solid 11-4 as the No. 2 in the lineup. Casey is 9-1 at the No. 2 position while boasting an 8-1 record in the his last nine contests.
Jack Maddocks has also been on a tear of late. Maddocks has a team-best eight-match win streak en route to an 11-4 mark primarily as the No. 3.
Trey Morris (8-6) and
Jan-Willem Kleynhans (seven wins) round out the leaders in singles action.
Overall, the Apps are 61-29 (.678) in singles competition, and have won 22 of their last 26 matches during the win streak.
In doubles competition, Kleynhans and Webster have dominated the competition with an 11-1 mark and a perfect 4-0 record as the top tandem in the lineup. The duo have won nine-straight matches and are 9-1 in the last 10 matches. Casey and Maddocks are right behind with 10 wins while pulling out wins in their last four matches.
Just one win away from 10 victories, Bost and Morris are 9-3 as the No. 3 pairing while winning the last three matches and an 8-2 mark in 10 matches.
Scouting Charlotte (10-5)The hosts have won four-straight matches while allowing just two points in their most previous match in a 5-2 win over Davidson on Wednesday. Charlotte has been solid at home this season with a 6-2 mark. J. Massalle Ferrer and Vikram Hundal are 10-3 in singles play with Hundal playing as the No. 1 in the lineup and Ferrer the No. 2. Ferrer has won seven matches in a row with a 7-1 mark in his last eight matches. The 49ers are 81-73 (.526) in singles competition. Hundal and Ferrer have taken the charge in doubles play with a 17-7 record, while Sam Brazil and Sam Rice sporting the second-most wins on the team with seven. UNCC is 39-41 in doubles play.
Scouting Davidson (10-8)Davidson has won five of its last six matches while most recently having its five-match win streak snapped to Charlotte, 5-2. The Wildcats are 7-2 since starting the season 3-6. Led by David Hager and Jack Riazzi, the teammates lead the Wildcats with 11 wins apiece in singles play, while both play in the back end of the lineup. Davidson is having a solid campaign with an overall mark of 54-49 in singles action. Shamael Chaudhry and J.B. Gough is pacing doubles action with a 7-3 record. The Wildcats are 24-21 in doubles action.
Series HistoryThe Mountaineers are 6-1 combined against the 49ers and Wildcats in the last five seasons, including a five-match win streak against Davidson. Appalachian defeated Davidson last season, 5-2, while the last three contests against Charlotte have been cancelled. The Black and Gold lost in a tough 4-3 contest to the 49ers in 2012.
