HILTON HEAD, S.C. — Appalachian State University women's golf started its spring with a win over Dayton at the Dayton Hilton Head Invitational on Sunday afternoon. The Mountaineers shot a 327 as a team while the Flyers carded a 336.

The Apps were paced by Emily Stinson and Joliana Elias who both shot 7-over 79. Seeing her first action of the year after not competing in the fall, Hannah Craver posted an 83. 

Madalyn Davis carded an 86 in her first round of the spring. Three strokes behind Davis was Savanna Wood recording an 86.

The Mountaineers had two golfers compete as individuals on Sunday. Annika Winebarger recorded an 87 while Lily Yatawara posted an 88.

The Mountaineers are next in action on Mar. 6-7 for the 2016 Seminole State Spring Break tournament.
