App State Finishes Texas Road Swing at UTA
ARLINGTON, Texas – Appalachian State University men's basketball will look to rebound off of its second-straight one-point defeat on Saturday, Feb. 13 at UT Arlington. Tipoff is slated for 8:15 p.m. ET from the College Park Center.

LAST TIME OUT
•    Appalachian State dropped its fourth one-point decision of the season in a 69-68 loss at Texas State on Thursday.
•    The Mountaineers overcame a game-high 12-point deficit and seven-point halftime deficit to take a lead late in the second half.
•    Down 64-62, Frank Eaves sank four free throws on a foul and technical foul to give App State a 66-64 lead with 1:10 left.
•    Texas State's Ethan Montalvo would hit a three to go head, but App State would get another chance.
•    Down 69-68, the Bobcats turned the ball over on an inbounds play, but App State couldn't get a good look at a game-winning shot.

SERIES HISTORY
•    UT Arlington and Appalachian State have now played three times since 2014-15 after not having played for 32 years.
•    The Mavericks took the first game of the season series in Boone, 71-67.
•    The Apps limited Kevin Hervey to just nine points on 2-for-13 shooting last time, but Erick Neal and Jalen Jones combined for 27 points on 9-for-19 shooting.
•    Frank Eaves was the lone Mountaineer to finish in double-figures last time against UTA. Eaves finished with 21 points on 7-for-17 shooting.

SCOUTING THE MAVERICKS
•    UT Arlington will enter Saturday's contest with a 16-7 overall record, including a 7-5 mark in the conference.
•    The Mavs are a tremendous 8-1 overall on their home court this season. It's first and only loss came at the hands of first place Little Rock on Jan. 23.
•    Earlier this season, the Mavericks lost its leading scorer, Kevin Hervey, to a season-ending injury.
•    Minus Hervey, the Mavs are led by Erick Neal (13.7 ppg) and Jalen Jones (12.1 ppg).
•    Hervey also led the team in rebounding (9.8 rpg), but have been led by Jorge Bilbao (7.3 rpg).
•    UTA recently snapped a season-long four-game losing skid with back-to-back wins over at Georgia State and Texas State.
•    In key statistical categories, the Mavs are an impressive +8.8 (12th nationally) in rebounding and +2.0 in turnovers.
•    The Mavs are third nationally in offensive rebounds per game (15.7) and 23rd in defensive rebounds per game (28.5).
•    As a team, the Mavs shoot 42.0 percent from the floor and 33.2 percent from long range, while holding its opponent to 40.3 percent from the field and 33.0 percent from three-point land.
•    UTA is averaging 80.5 points per game, while limiting opponents to just 69.3 points - good for a +11.3 scoring margin.

•    Appalachian State will return home to Boone and face-off against both South Alabama and Troy in the Holmes Center.
•    App State will take on South Alabama on Thursday, Feb. 18 at 7:30 p.m. They will play Troy on Saturday, Feb. 20 at 3:45 p.m.
