Women's Tennis Set for Three Matches This weekend
BOONE, N.C. -  Appalachian State University women's tennis (1-3) will have an interesting weekend with three matches in two days, beginning with Limestone on Friday at 2 p.m. in Gaffney, S.C.

The Mountaineers will play Presbyterian in Clinton, S.C. on Saturday at 10 a.m. before heading back to Boone for a 7 p.m. match at the Yonahlossee Tennis Club in Boone, N.C.

Appalachian is coming off a thrilling 4-3 victory over UNC Asheville for its first victory of the season. The Mountaineers took two of three doubles matches while picking up the three points in singles play they needed to pick up the victory. It was a close match with three of the six matches going into third sets.

Gabriell Wreder clinched the final point with a 7-6, 6-0 win over her counterpart at the four spot. Mackenzie LaSure and Melissa Machado would pick up the other singles wins with both coming in hard-fought three-set triumphs. Machado and LaSure had solid performances with both also notcheing wins in doubles competition. LaSure parntnered with Taylor Bygrave as the No. 3 duo while Machado teamed up with Megan Mullen in the No. 2 position.

LaSure, Wreder and Machado all picked up their first singles wins of the season while the duos of Machado/Mullen and LaSure/Bygrave picked up their first doubles wins of the season.

Scouting Limestone (1-0)
The Saints are 1-0 this season after defeating Belmont Abbey, 9-0. Last season, Limestone finished with solid 13-6 record overall and an undefeated 11-0 record in their conference while advancing to Erskine in the tournament.

Scouting Presbyterian (5-2)
The Blue Hose have lost their past two matches after starting the season 5-0. Presbyterian fell to App State rival, Georgia Southern 5-2 after falling to Charlotte, 7-0.  Presbyterian is 26-16 overall in singles matches and 13-7 in doubles competition. Appalachian has dominated the past two contests against Presbyterian, sweeping the Blue Hose in both matches.

Scouting Radford (0-4)
Radford has yet to win a match this season, but has faced a tough non-conference schedule against a pair ranked opponents in No. 30 Virginia Tech and No. 56 Marshall. The Highlanders went 7-12 in '14-15 with a 3-6 record in their conference.

The Mountaineers will return home on Saturday, Feb. 27 for a 3:00 p.m. match against Emory.
