App State Set to Travel to the Lone Star State

BOONE, N.C. – Appalachian State University men's basketball will look to end a three-game losing streak on the road at Texas State on Thursday, Feb. 11. Tip time from Strahan Coliseum in San Marcos, Texas is slated for 8:30 p.m. ET.

LAST TIME OUT
•    ULM used an 11-3 run to end the game last Saturday and defeated Appalachian State 91-90.
•    Ronshad Shabazz scored a game-high 27 points and nearly topped his previous career high of 29.
•    Shabazz finished 10-for-17 from the field - both tying career highs for makes and attempts in a game.
•    Frank Eaves broke out of his shooting slump and finished with 21 points. Chris Burgess chipped in 14 and Bennett Holley tied a career high with 13 points.
•    Appalachian held an 87-80 lead with 3:13 left in the game, but couldn't finish off the Warhawks as ULM finished on a 6-0 run down 90-85.

SERIES HISTORY
•    Earlier this season on Jan. 9, the Mountaineers posted a dominant 76-56 win over the Bobcats.
•    The win improved App State to 3-1 all time against Texas State, including 2-0 in Boone.
•    In three games against Texas State, Frank Eaves has posted two 30-point outings. 31 points last year in San Marcos and a 30-point effort on Jan. 9 in Boone.
•    33.3 percent of Eaves' 30-point games have come against the Bobcats.
•    Ronshad Shabazz and Emarius Logan posted double-figure games last time against the Bobcats with 12 and 11 points, respectively.

SCOUTING THE BOBCATS
•    Texas State enters Thursday's contest coming off of a 65-53 loss to UT Arlington on Tuesday.
•    The Bobcats carry a 9-12 overall record, including a 3-9 record in league play.
•    The Bobcats are currently on a five-game losing streak and since their loss at Appalachian State are 2-8.
•    The last time both teams met on Jan. 9 in Boone, Appalachian came away with a dominant 76-56 win at the Holmes Center.
•    The Mountaineers got out to a 30-8 first half lead in their wire-to-wire victory over the Bobcats.
•    Three Bobcats have notched double-figure scoring outputs this season. Kavin Gilder-Tilbury (12.8 ppg), Emani Grant (12.2 ppg) and Ethan Montalvo (10.4 ppg).
•    Grant leads the team in rebounding with 7.4 rebounds per game and leads the team with 141 total rebounds this season.
•    Montalvo has proven to be the primary three-point threat for the Bobcats (40-for-112) with 38 more attempts than the next closest teammate.
•    Overall, Texas State has outrebounded its opponent by the slimest of margins (+0.7).
•    The Bobcats are shooting 42.0 percent from the field, however, have allowed opponents to shoot 43.5 percent.
•    They have struggled from the three-point line and are shooting just 32.2 percent, while allowing opponents to shoot 35.5 percent.
