BOONE, N.C. – Appalachian State University volleyball will hold its annual end of the year banquet in conjunction with its alumni weekend on Saturday, April 16 at 6 p.m. on the fifth floor of the athletics center.
Join the 2015 Appalachian State volleyball team in celebrating its successes from last season - finishing 22-8, including 13-3 in Sun Belt Conference play and reaching the championship match of the conference tournament.
All family, friends, fans and alumni are welcome to attend this special event honoring players from both the past and the present, including their four graduating seniors.
The 22 wins last season, coupled with 21 victories in 2014, marked the first time since 2005-2006 that the program boasted back-to-back 20-win campaigns.
In 2015, the Mountaineers garnered four all-conference honorees, including Sun Belt Offensive Student-Athlete of the Year Jess Keller. Last season, Keller led the Mountaineers with 507 total kills and 4.57 kills per set to lead the Sun Belt in both categories.
For her career, Keller finished with 1,210 kills and is now 10th on the all-time program list.
Emily Corrigan also received first-team recognition for her great 2015. Corrigan tallied 411 kills last year and finished with 1,399 for her career – good for second all-time in program history.
Two others also helped re-write the record books in their time at Appalachian State. Setter Paige Brown came into the 2015 season ranked seventh on the all-time list for career assists. Brown recorded 1,335 assists and is now the all-time assist leader in program history with 4,478 career helpers.
Meghan Mahoney will finished just 23 digs shy of breaking the all-time record at Appalachian. Mahoney finished 2015 with 518 digs and ended her career with 1,847.
