Joi Jones scored a game-high 18 points along with a career-high eight assists, five boards and just one turnover.
Ashley Bassett-Smith notched a career-high 15 points on 7-for-8 shooting from the field with six rebounds and three swats.

KeKe Cooper corralled a career-high 16 rebounds and 10 points for her third double-double of the season.
Taking Care of Business on the road• The Mountaineers needed a performance like what they put on Thursday at Troy with the 96-81 victory.
• Appalachian scored nearly 36 points above its season average on the road.
• App State's 96 points is the most on the road against a conference opponent since the 1995-96 season when the Mountaineers scored 102 against Georgia Southern on Feb. 22, 1996.
• The Black and Gold saw a season-high six student-athletes score in double figures. Appalachian didn't put more than three student-athletes in double figures in the previous seven road games.

A Win for App State Would• Push the Mountaineers to 7-12 and 4-6 in SBC play.
• Give Appalachian a two-game win streak in conference play and on the road.
• Push Appalachian to above eighth in the conference.
• Give the Mountaineers their first back-to-back conference road wins since the 2013-14 season when they were in the SoCon.
• Hand the Jaguars their seventh loss at home.
• Drop South Alabama to 8-11 and 4-6 in league action.
• Give the Apps their third win over a conference team that is higher in the standings.
Five Things to Watch for at South Alabama• The Apps are averaging 53.5 ppg through the two games after reaching at least 90 points. See if the Mountaineers can put forth another performance like on Thursday.
• South Alabama is 1-6 this season when allowing opponents to reach at least 65 points. Watch if Appalachian can reach the 65-point mark to put pressure on a Jaguar squad that is ninth in the SBC in scoring (56.4).
• Appalachian shot 31-for-53 (58.4 percent) from the field over the last three quarters (6-for-20) at Troy on Thursday. See if the Mountaineers can carry the hot shooting on Saturday.

Jones is averaging 10.1 ppg, 5.1 rpg, 3.6 apg and just under two turnovers per game. In the previous six before that, the junior averaged 9.0 ppg, 5.7 rpg, 2.2 apg and four miscues per game. See if she can keep up the play we say against South Alabama.
