Joi Jones led the team with 12 points while Mia Marshall notched her third double-double of the season with 10 points and a game-high 10 boards (seven offensive). Five Things To Watch for vs. Georgia State
• The Apps are 2-1 this season at the Holmes Center when coming off a loss on the road. App State has also reached the 90-point mark in two out of the last three contests at home. Anticipate on the Apps to bounce back against a struggling Georgia State.
• App State is averaging 12.8 assists in its five wins compared to the 8.9 assists in the 10 losses. See if App State can get back to moving the ball on offense against the Panthers.
• Watch if Appalachian can get off to a faster start against Georgia State. Against LR and Arkansas State, the Mountaineers were outscored , 86-39, in the first half combined while outscoring both opponents, 71-70, in the second half.
• KeKe Cooper had her lowest scoring output in a two-game stretch this season in Arkansas. Cooper is averaging nearly 10 points (9.7 ppg) on 57.5 percent shooting from the floor while scoring just 7.0 ppg on 56.8 percent shooting on the road. She's also averaging two more boards (8.3-6.3) at the Holmes Center. See if she can keep the trend going on Thursday.
• Appalachian put up 17 second-chance points at Arkansas State on Saturday. It was just the second time this season the Apps notched at least 15 second-chance points and suffered a loss. The Mountaineers average 15.2 second-chance points in their wins while just 11.1 in the setbacks. The key to App State winning might be how much it converts its second-chance opportunities.

• Georgia State is coming off a 61-50 setback versus rival Georgia Southern on Tuesday.
• The Panthers are 1-5 in their last six games since reeling off four-straight wins.
• App State and GSU are meeting for the fifth time in series history. The Panthers hold a 3-2 edge all-time while sweeping the series last season.
• In four of the five contests, the winner has went on to win by 10 or more points.
• Makeba Ponder leads the team in scoring, averaging 13.3 ppg.
• Madison Newby ranks first in the Sun Belt dishing out a team-high 4.9 apg while her 56.1 percent shooting from the field is the third-highest in the league.
• The Panthers are first in the Sun Belt in steals forcing 9.7 swipes per game.
